Newton is the “bull’s eye” of the North American Continent. U.S. Highway 50 stretches through Washington DC, Newton and California. Highway 81 travels through Winnipeg, Canada, Newton and Mexico City, Mexico. Newton is also the County Seat of Harvey County, a small manufacturing and agricultural county with a population of 34,361. Located 20 miles North of Wichita, Newton is part of the Wichita Metro Area.

Directions from
Mid-Continent Airport
1. Exiting the airport merge onto South Mid-
Continent Road
2. Take Kellog Drive/ US-400/ US-54 East for
approximately 1.5 miles.
3. Merge onto I-235 North and travel on 9.6 miles.
4. Merge onto I-135 North toward Salina
5. Continue on I-135 North for about 16 miles.
6. Take Exit 28 and turn left on Southeast 36th St.
7. Turn right at South Kansas Road which becomes
Kansas Street.
8. Take a right onto Medical Center Drive.
9. End at 700 Medical Center Drive, Suite 600 is on
the North side of the medical complex.

Attractions
Newton is a small town rich in history and the arts. Take the time to visit sites such as the Blue Sky Sculpture, the Carriage Factory Art Gallery and Park, Country Boys Carriage and Prairie Adventures, the Harvey County Society Library and Museum, the Kauffman Museum, the Newton Train Station and the Warkentin House Museum.
The area around Newton has a strong Mennonite history and offers several opportunities to learn more about Mennonites. Visit Hillsboro and stop by the Mennonite Settlement Museum and see pioneer life in Kansas in 1876 at the Peter Paul Loewen House. Also on the grounds are the Friesen Dutch Mill and Kreutziger Country School. Or hop over to Goessel and take a peak at the Mennonite Heritage Museum Complex outlining Mennonite Immigrants and their part in Kansas agriculture.

Apple Blossom Festival- April
Newton's first outdoor celebration of Spring. A festival for everyone- including local musicians, dancers, a kidfest, crafts, and carriage rides.
Chisolm Trail Festival- July
The "Old West" at its best with live shoot-outs, street dances, parade, historical tours and a fireworks display.
Taste of Newton- October
Dozens of food booths sponsored by groups from Bethel College, area churches, civic clubs and service organizations line the streets. Music and dance groups perform at two locations. |
