RETENTION STRATEGIES |
||
The success of any study hinges on volunteers not only enrolling but also completing the protocol. Heartland Research Associates, LLC understands this and makes every effort to aid our volunteers in completing their studies by making daily reminder calls and greeting each patient at the front door with a friendly face. We understand that our participants are volunteering their time and efforts at our facility and we strive to make sure they feel valued and appreciated. Each of our sites is located within Family Practice clinics; therefore many of our participants are referred for a study from an Investigator that is also their family doctor. The strong physician-patient tie our providers share with their patients strengthens our ability to maintain participants through the final visits of a study. Many participants enjoy the routine visits with their family doctor that most protocols require. We feel that our efforts to educate our participants about research and the service they are providing others help the participants to see the value in volunteering. During the informed consent process we explain the significance of the study and why it is being conducted. All efforts are made by our physicians and coordinators to answer any questions honestly and completely in the beginning of the study, as well as, throughout the study. After the first visit we continue to re-enforce the significance of the study and the importance of following each step as directed. As we ask our volunteers to commit to the protocol Heartland Research Associates, LLC commits to them, twenty-four hours a day staff is available and on call to assist our participants with any problems or concerns that may arise. |
